This I believe.
That magic is, indeed, necessary, essential, vital, for life.
As are all acts of Power and Compassion necessary- for all that lives.
And by magic I mean no great spell to win a lover or a job or material happiness
I mean the magic of people bonded together in mystery and in trust
To meld their spirits together
And affirm the poetry of the seasons
I believe that the One, the All, the Spirit of the Divine
moves us each separately, in our own faiths-
moves us to complete the journey towards God on different paths,
and to seek to shore up the damage that humanity has done to its own spirit
and itself.
But as for me,
And as long as there are people who believe that the sun will not turn,
And the winter will not ease
Unless we will it in our souls and express it with our dance
Unless we call upon the that strand that connects us,
And weave it into being once more by the light of the moon and with the power of the sun
As long as someone, somewhere, can embrace that moment of mystery, and tremble for just a moment in fear of darkness, accepting that fear as birthright,
and then, with the courage inexorable step back into light…
The sun will rise
The winds will still scatter the seeds,
The waters will wet them,
And the earth will, as long we care for Her,
Embrace us her children with nourishment, rest, and peace.
Valerie,
This is beautiful…a bit of commentary and poetry together. You’ve captured the ebb and flow of this seasons cold and blustery days as are followed by the turning of the wheel. The Solstice was magickal as was the energy raised…we are powerful yes.
Thanks for this post. I for certain agree with what you are saying. I have been talking about this subject a lot lately with my father so preferably this will get him to see my point of view. Fingers crossed!
Good site! I actually love how it is easy on my eyes as well as the details are well composed. I am wondering how I could be notified whenever a new post was been made. I have subscribed to your rss feed which really should work! Have a good day!
